* * * * * * * * * *

So … after quite some time we are back in blogging … actually we have more time to write some stuff while we are on vacations 🙂

So … on our 10th day of journey we visited Udawalawe national park. We decided to visit Uadawalawe over Yala national park because it is less touristic and cheaer. But basically it soes not offer a lot less than Yala … except maybe leopard. But we read that you have to be extremely lucky to see the leopard. If you ask our kids, that day was the best day of the whole trip. So now … I will stop “talkin'” and let you enyoj in pictures. I just have to add this … it was an incredible experience and we would definetly do it again. Udawalawe national park costed us about 11.500 rupees (entrance fee around 7500 rupees and guide 4000 rupees). I will write about the guide later … for now … ENJOY 🙂

No in tu drži pregovor, da pogumnim pripada svet :). Wooohooooo!!!

* * * * * * * * * *

This is our safari guide Leel Kumara. Dude is totally awesome. We found him in quite strange way. We rarely book the guesthouse on Booking … but in this situation we were forced to do that, because w knew that we will arrive really late.While searchin on Booking there was unusual number of positive comments about Wallawa cottage. When I started reading them, Isaw that most of them are about saafari guide Leel … but of course there were also a lot positive comments about the guesthouse, which we would highly recommend despite the high price. We decided to spend more money here just to get Leel as our safari guide … and it was all worth it. The guesthouse costed us about 40 EUR (a bit more than 5000 rupees). And on top of everything … we did not even know if we will meet him. But we were extremely lucky … we met him the moment we arived, he was free the next day and on top of that, we were the only tourists he had on jeep with 8 seats. Wooohooooooo!!!

* * * * * * * * * *

This cute monkey was totally in love with Lan hahahahha. When we were leaving he just could not get rid of her :). She was so persistant, that I had to help the špoor boy hahahhahaha

Srečali smo ogromno pavov …

* * * * * * * * * *

We’ve met a lot of peacocks …

* * * * * * * * * *

… and an elephant family which got really close :).

* * * * * * * * * *

After 4 hours safari we come “home” just in time for a delicious Sri lankan breakfast 🙂

* * * * * * * * * *

And here is the telephone number of Walawa Cottage, where you can find Leel, who will take you to a unforgettable sfari :).

Med zajtrkom smo ves čas poslušali otroško petje, igro in cel živ žav. Zato smo se, ko smo pojedli odpravili raziskovat kaj se dogaja. Nekaj hiš niže smo našli vrtec, kjer so ravno imeli nekakšno predstavo.

* * * * * * * * * *

During our breakfast (which was delicious by the way) we were listening to child singinga and playing. So after we finished with breakfast we went out exploreing what is going on. We found a small daycare, where they had some child performance. As soon as But the most amazing was, how hospitable are those people … unbelivable!!!

* * * * * * * * * *

And this are the proud owners of daycare. Actually not the owners of daycare, but the owners of the house where daycare is located. They allowed a friend that she can have daycare at their house and that is it. That is how things works in Sr Lanka :).

MIRISSA, here we cooooomeeeeee 🙂

* * * * * * * * * *

When we said goodbye at day care it was time to continue our journey … this time towards the seaside. MIRISSA, here wecoooooommmmeeeeee 🙂

In končno, doooolgo pričakovano morje :). Slavna Mirissa.

* * * * * * * * * *

And finally, long expected seaside :). Famous Mirissa. Well … not that it is not nice … but if you compare Mirissa to some beach on Ko Phi Phi in Thailand … in this case Mirissa does not even stand a chance. And you can not swim either, because of big waves and strong underwater currants. So … it is nice beach, but I would not choose it for a vacation :P.

Now a few words about our guesthouse. Mirissa is actually like a small village by the sea and we quickly found a place to stay. It was just across the street from the beach and we payed 3500 rupees (cca 20 EUR) … and the owner was also selling beer on “black market”, so I did not have to search for wine shop around the city :). But … we found a awesome hostel in centre of Mirissa, but it was unfortunately full. It is on the main street and trust me … if you walk by, you can not miss it. It is totally different … modern, european style with music and big yard. It is SPECIAL!!!

* * * * * * * * * *

If you think the boys had time to change clothes before they jumped into water … WROOOONG 🙂

* * * * * * * * * *

Since we arrived late it is time for dinner … fu***** KOTTU ROTTI again … for 10 days in a row. First day it was delicious … but now … hahahaha

Prva stvar, še preden smo izpluli so nam ponudili tablete proti morski bolezni.

* * * * * * * * * *

The next day we went whale watching. Price was 6000 rupees for all four of us (cca 40 EUR). I have to admit, that was far most unpleasant experience I’ve had on out trips (even worse than camel riding in Morocco). First thing, even before we sailed, the sailors offerd us some pills against sea sickness. But … ofcourse I did not need them … because I am so cool :P. Unfortunately things did not work out as planned, because in about an hour I tought I will die … actually I was hoping I will die, because that was a complete catastrophy!!! I could not throw up … niether not throw up hahahhahahaha. And to things be even worse I’ve had Lan in my lap with the same problem … with one difference. He was throwing up frequently. And there we were … hanging over the fence over 3 hours throwing up and hoping that it will be over soon hahahahahhahahahahahahahha. But … at least we’ve seen the whales. Not the blue whales, because you can only see blue whales when the sky is clear and the sun is shining …

Po koncu ogledovanja kitov in bruhanja, si privoščimo malce osvežitve (mimgrede, mango na Sri Lanki ja zakoooon!!!!) in zabave na plaži. Ker nismo videli sinjih kitov

posebej poudarjati jhahahahhahaah.

* * * * * * * * * *

After the whale watching and throwing up, we have to eat something refreshing (mango in Sri Lanka is amazing) and some fun at the beach. Since we did not see the blue

whales, Urša and Gal arranged another excursion for the next day … I belive I do not have to tell you that me and Land skipped that one hahahahaha.

* * * * * * * * * *

We’ve had so much fun on the beach and jumping into huge waves. But you have to be carefull … somethimes, waves can be so big that they can be dangerous to smaller

kids.

Naša plaža :).

* * * * * * * * * *

Our beach :).

* * * * * * * * * *

If you’ll ever need to carry a big fish on a scotter and you’ll not know how … that’s how :).

Največje otroško odkritje na potovanju. Ingverjevo pivo … obevzna osvežitev ob vsakem obroku, če so ga le imeli :). Seveda brez alkohola. Cena 30 rupij (cca 20

centov 🙂 )

* * * * * * * * * *

The biggest discovery on a whole trip … ginger beer. Kids loved it and they ordered it everywhere they could. Of course it s alcohol free and extremely refreshing

:). Price is 30 rupees (0,2 EUR)

* * * * * * * * * *

While Urša and Gal went whale watching again, me and Lan were enjoying peaceful day at the beach. We’ve all had a great day. Urša and Gal saw a few blue whales from

really, really close (5-10 meters) and me and Lan were chasing crabs arond the beach.

Me res zanima kaj je ujel …

* * * * * * * * * *

Beside that this is one of my favourite photos from our trip there is something else special on it what you can not see, but I will remember forever :). This guy has

had a car spark plug as a bait hahahahhahahahahaha. I am still wondering how many fish he caught …

bliskalo … NOROOOOOOOOOOOO 😀

* * * * * * * * * *

And this was definetly the most spectacular sunset we’ve ever seen. There was a storm raging at distance – some people were talking about tornado, there was a lot of

lightning … INSAAAAAANEEEEEE 😀

Evo pa smo na koncu. Najlepša hvala vsem, ki vas je moje pisanje in fotografije dovolj pritegnilo, da ste si vzeli čas in prebrali do konca. Najboljši ste!!!! Se

beremo kmalu. Vidmo …

* * * * * * * * * *

The end … fin … finito :). Many thaks to all of you who took the time and read everything. You are THE BEST!!! See you soon. We have so much more stories to share

with you … about our next journey to Sumatra and of course we have many more adventures to share with you about Sri Lanka :). See yaaaaaa ……
